Privacy Policy

quietveil helps you stay focused during meetings by dimming your other browser tabs. It's built to be private by default. This policy explains what data the extension handles — and, just as importantly, what it doesn't.

What happens on your device (and stays there)

• quietveil detects meetings by checking the URLs of your open tabs (e.g. Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and any custom sites you add) against a list of meeting sites. This matching happens entirely on your device.
• To know when a call has ended, it checks the active meeting tab for end-of-call indicators. This is read locally and never transmitted.
• It applies a dimming overlay to your other tabs.

We do not collect, store, or transmit your browsing history, the pages you visit, or the sites you use.

Your settings

Your preferences (dim level, custom meeting sites, and your quietveil plus license details) are saved using Chrome's built-in sync storage, so they follow you across your signed-in Chrome browsers. That data is stored through your Google account by Google; we don't operate that storage.

Purchases (quietveil plus)

Payments are processed by Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record. When you subscribe:

• Stripe collects your email address, payment details, and billing address to process the payment and calculate tax. We never see or store your card details — they go directly to Stripe. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• We generate a license key for your subscription and store it with your subscription record at Stripe.
• To unlock plus features, the extension sends your license key to our license server to confirm the subscription is active. The response includes your plan and the email tied to the subscription, which the extension shows you and saves in your synced settings.

We use this only to provide and verify your subscription. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell or share it.

What we don't do

• No advertising and no trackers.
• No analytics that identify you.
• No selling or renting of personal data.
• No collection of your browsing history or page content.

Data retention

• Subscription records (your email and license key) are kept by Stripe for as long as your subscription exists and as required for Stripe's legal and tax obligations.
• Settings in Chrome sync storage remain until you clear them or uninstall the extension. Removing your license in the extension deletes the stored license details from your device.

Your choices

• You can remove your stored license and settings any time from the extension, or by uninstalling it.
• To ask what data is held or to request deletion, email us and we'll help — depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete your personal data.

Children

quietveil is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we'll note them in the extension or its store listing.
